My favorite course to teach is Fundamental Rhythms and Dance. I love to teach students, especially those who may be hesitant, that they CAN dance.

A Conversation with Dr. Sandy Kimbrough
What would you tell a student who is thinking about attending East Texas A&M?
Specific to our department, faculty are on campus a lot, and we know our students’ names and have great relationships with them. You will get a lot of hands-on experience and get to know your professors and classmates.
What draws you to your discipline?
I have always played sports and been very active, so I really enjoy teaching about physical movement and the body. I also love being around college students. My job is not a typical desk job, so while I do some traditional teaching, I also get to do a lot of movement within my job, which is great.
What has been your favorite course to teach?
My favorite course to teach is Fundamental Rhythms and Dance. I love to teach students, especially those who may be hesitant, that they CAN dance. We learn things like folk, square, country, ballroom, fitness and more! It is a lot of fun and the students usually end up becoming great friends.
